we had few plans yesterday (which is rare)
the kids went down for a nap early, they needed to, they were falling apart
and so I thought to myself, if they go down early they might wake up early
and we would go hit up the pumpkin patch
I told Nick when he called to gloat about being right... hmm
And I said I'd call when they woke up and we would see if I should take them alone
or wait for his commute (if we thought there would be enough daylight).
But he suprised me by not working overtime and showing up at 4:00
kids were still asleep
and so we whisked them away to a local pumpkin patch
and it was so sweet...
I had zero expectations
and man did I have the sweetest of nights
We did gaze at each other through the corn maze.
We tried lifting big pumpkins.
I explained to Rylan there would be horsies and trains
but that they were too many dollars (so please don't ask)
and what do you know she saw them and said..
not today train.. not today horsies...
and we ran oh we ran through that corn maze....
going round and round for awhile..
and we admired the pumpkins (but left them there)
for our pumpkins magically appeared on our doorstep a few days ago
(thank you home depot for your cheap pumpkins)
and giggled a lot.
It was magic.
A soundtrack even.
go figure.
Checking your expecations at the gate paid off a bit...

4 little notes:
So cute...and I love Cade's hair long! I've been debating whether or not to cut Quinn's and now after seeing Cade's I'm growing it longer!
Beautiful! So glad you had a "soundtrack" evening! We all need those now and then. It tastes even sweeter after a slightly rougher outing with unmet expectations, huh?
Yea!!!!!
Beautiful pictures, magical afternoon! BTW I love your necklace...is it Vintage Pearl?
