mommy/daddy love day

if you ask Rylan what we did yesterday she will tell
you "mommy daddy love day"

we decided a few years back, when we have kids
we want to celebrate our anniversary with them
celebrate the fact that we are afterall family
cause we fell in love

you all know the song

mommy & daddy sitting in a tree
k-i-s-s-i-n-g
first comes love... then came marriage
now theres too many baby carriages....

we may have taught her that song on our way...
maybe.

So this year off we went to celebrate
mommy daddy in love day

we went to balboa penninusla
the fun zone
we love that boardwalk
headed towards our favorite old time
photo booth,
but it had been replaced
boo...
but we did it anyways with its new modern version
fun to see all 4 faces squished up in the frame
the one we used to fit just fine in ..
we ski-balled
and exchanged our tickets for a ring
that Rylan couldn't keep her eyes off of
we ate New York Style pizza
rode the carousel
watched the water
and just in case that wasn't all special enough
got a pizookie at BJ's
which Rylan lovingly called a "SUPER TREAT".
all in all.
a very special
mommy daddy love day
one never to be forgotten

ever

and then when we tried to get a family pic, the waiter must have thought we needed help
thanks waiter..

what a perfect day! I love the idea of sharing your love with your children and that you still got some adult time in the evening!

Here is to many more years of pure bliss....
Congrats!

precious photos, precious day, precious intentional-celebrating ... happy mommy-daddy-love-day to you a day late.

and your ponderings and remembrances in the previous post ... so very good and touching and wisdom-filled and full of grace and powerful. FUNK OVER indeed. Momentary hissy fits are fine and hard to completely eliminate. It's the big picture and claiming/knowing the TRUTH that matters. God is powerful and His timing and ways are PERFECT. Always. He never drops the ball. Or forgets. Or gets there too late. Or doesn't care. He knows YOU intimately and your every circumstance.

By the looks and sounds of the last few posts around here, you had a gloriously defunktory love day...

1) You are the sweetest foursome ever.
2) Whoa! How did Cade go from looking like a baby to looking like a toddler...does it really happen that quickly?
3) So glad you got to have a fun day. Love that you shared your anniversary with your kids like that...
4) the pictures are ( as always ) spectacular!

I love this idea! Consider it stolen by yours truly :) Happy Anniversary, how funny that we were both getting hitched the same week. Is getting married on a Tuesday odd? We were students and oblivious which translates to: we can get married any day we want during our summer break and everyone can get the day off work because who wouldn't want to be at MY wedding?!? I like to think I've grown up a bit since then...
