making room for two

On Friday Rylan woke up in THIS room. In all its delicate pink glory. But I was a mommy with a mission. Grammy and Grandpa arrived at around 9:00 and played all day with Rylan so that I could go upstairs and conquer the room swap. Unfortuanetely my cold chopped a lot of my stamina in half but then when daddy came home.. wahhlahhh we turned this room into a playroom/nursery perfect for a brother and sister to share.

I would love to invite you in to peek at the nursery

go ahead come on in...

first and foremost we needed a place to play

and a chair to take a cuddle in

a place to take a rest

a place to clean up something not so pleasant

a spot to read a good book

the mobile that Rylan adores

I still have a few big things to do in there, some basket liners to sew, a pillow for the rocking chair, and Im hoping to find a giant "&" for the wall to paint yellow for between Cade & Rylan.. but for now I couldn't wait any longer showing you the special spot in our home we made for our sweet babies... BOTH of them.

your room turned out so cute like an ad for pottery barn! love the colors!

That is what I'd call a childs world of primary colored enchantment at it's best. I adore it. But then I am such a sucker for primary colors in a nursery. Seriously PB should hire you to design their rooms...wouldn't it be fun to be able to play around with all those "props"...Leslie I love it so much...and seeing their cribs side by side like that must make it sink in all the deeper. They are going to be the best of friends! But the room, the room is so much fun!!!!

It's perfect, Les - absolutly perfect!!!!
I love that you kept the soft green with all of the primary colors and that you tied in little "boyness", mixed with sweet "girlyness"!
PERFECT!!!

Oh wow! wow. wow. wow. You did amazing! It's so lovely. How could they not feel perfectly at home? So cute and...man, it's just amazing.
I can't wait to see both of them playing together in there. Thank you so much for sharing how it all came together. You should submit your pictures to PB of Domino or something. You do such a great job.

I forgot to ask, what are you doing with your pretty pink chandelier? And other sweet pink things?

Leslie said...

Actually Fairlight, listing it all to sale, just haven't done it yet...

in need of a chandelier... ???

I have lots of girlyness piled up high in my bedroom right now..

Curtains
Bumper
Sheets
Crib Skirt
Rug
Chandelier
Boppy Cover
Changing Pad Cover
Pink Frames

If you know of someone having a girl, they could literally completely duplicate her previous room.

wow, wow, wow! the room looks great! rylan & cade will have so much fun together. it's perfect, and a color scheme that they could both grow into!

on a completely unrelated note...i am making your chicken tortilla soup today (yeah, i eat soup year-round in san francisco!). remind me, do i need to pre-cook the chicken breast before i add it to the rest of the crock pot mix?

Fairlightday said...

Well, I don't know of anyone having a girl, but I have two. :) I would love to have the info for the chandelier and maybe the rug, and boppy cover.

What an absolutly darling room for your two little ones to share. I'm sure Rylan and Cade will adore it:) You should do a close up of all the tiny photos on the wall. They look so cute there and now I'm wondering what they are of. Have a happy Wednesday and I hope you are feeling better!

Oh Leslie!!!!!!!!!!!
This room is indescribably ADORABLE! I continue to be completely amazed by how much you and Nick accomplish, even when you're feeling less than optimal (a huge understatement, I know!).

You both must be thrilled with how this has come out... How did Rylan respond to the newness???

For a minute I had to make sure I didn't type in Pottery Barn Kids or Land of Nod, that is how perfect and stunning it is.
Love everything about it, it's just darling and so fitting for either boy or girl I bet Rylan loved waking up to that!
Great job Leslie!

The room looks amazing, so adorable for two little ones. The colors are so beautiful together. Maybe when you post Rylans old room stuff for sale you could give us the link in case we know someone who needs girly stuff!

Oh I LOVE it!!!!
I was at our JoAnns this weekend and they had lots and lots of letters and symbols ripe for painting or decoupage or whatever. They came in 3 different sizes (all designed for hanging on the wall.) Maybe they have what you want.
I too can't believe all that you accomplish (even if you were feeling GREAT)
I'm still praying for you!

It is SO SO SO CUTE! You are talented. I may hire you to decorate our nurseries, when we need them. We are praying for you and Cade. Thanks for calling last night. I'm swamped. I stopped working at 10:30 last night and am still at it. I'll call this weekend.....Love you!

Love, love, love the room! You are one talented lady! BTW, I keep trying to send you emails but the system keeps returning them--- says your mailbox is full. Is there an alternate email I can send you stuff at? ~Dawna

I absolutely adore that room, you two did an AMAZING job! Da'Gorgeouses cribs are side by side like that, it's so wonderful to watch them sleeping, they still call out or look for each other. I'm sure if the cribs were any closer we'd find them both sharing the same one by now, or their tiny little hands clasped together.

Thanks for stopping by to visit us, I know you don't really want to be awake at that time---I'm keeping you all in my prayers!

Hugs & Blessings!
